Earthquakes and Greenhouse Gases

Earthquakes and greenhouse gases have a relationship that has not been talked about much.  Gaskell, T.F. in his book ‘Physics of the Earth’ published in 1970 wrote about research findings which established that certain gases were found in higher quantities in water bodies including swamps and lakes after earthquakes. Greenhouse gases as mentioned elsewhere on this website are discharged hot under pressure from the inner earth. The heat they come with has had a warming effect on the surrounding atmospheric air which from uncritical minds was misinterpreted and misunderstood to mean the gases were trapping heat from the sun. The same gases trapped beneath the crust and subjected to massive heating expand alongside lava generating pressure which causes the imbalances between upthrust and down thrust forces leading to earthquakes.

The fact that the gases were observed in larger quantities in water bodies doesn’t mean they were only released in water or that they are retained in water permanently. In open space it would be more difficult to make this kind of observation because these gases mix with atmospheric gases much faster. Having looked at earthquake trends and considering that each time an earthquake occurs these gases are discharged, should anyone still be surprised at the increasing amounts of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere?
