Mitigating Heatwaves
Mitigating heatwaves require the development of mechanisms to facilitate rapid escape of earth’s heat directly into the open space. Observations from volcanic eruptions have demonstrated that when earth pours out its heat into open space, the globe cools down sometimes to the extent of causing ice ages. When volcanic activities remain limited, earth’s heat accumulates within. Such heat then diffuses slowly through the crust causing global warming. It also creates huge amounts of pressure inside the planet resulting in frequent high magnitude earthquakes.
But it must be remembered that global warming can’t and will not continue forever. Climate change is a circular process involving global warming and global cooling which includes ice ages. The record-breaking warm temperatures indicate the process is approaching a tipping or turning point. A tipping point in these circumstances would mean the heat and pressure inside the planet overwhelming the crust and causing it to crack open, pour out its hot contents and loose substantial heat suddenly or abruptly resulting in an ice age.
This takes us back to the core finding and recommendations of ‘Climate change: an alternative theory’ that climate change is a natural process but which we must seek to mitigate based on a sound science. And this is why ‘Geoclimatology’ is proposed.
