ABSTRACT
“Climate change an alternative theory” is the culmination of research aimed at finding the cause or
causes of climate change which is/are comprehensive and explainable. Comprehensive in its
/their broadness both in time and space does not require falsification of figures or denial of
reality. Comprehensive in the sense that it accounts for all observable phenomena including
apparent contradictions or paradoxes like extreme heat and cold experienced at the same time in
different parts of the globe.
Mitigating climate change just like any other problem requires understanding the cause/s and
processes. The theory looks at climate change from pre-historic times to the present age. Ice
ages, volcanic eruptions and Gondwanaland are part of observations taken into consideration.
Established scientific facts particularly from physics and chemistry have also been considered.
Philosophy remains alive as it applies scientific logic to ensure conclusions arrived at are based
on established premises and observations.
Two recommendations are made including the need to establish a new scientific subject and the
need to refocus climate change mitigation efforts on interrupting the natural forces causing
climate change. Several conclusions have been made with the most important being the
establishment of a two -heat sources relationship between planet Earth and the sun. The other
conclusion is that ice ages present the greatest danger to our survival on planet Earth more than
global warming.
